Our first cleanup weekend was accomplished in February. Before this was started, a camp member located the current owner of the property and obtained his permission to go on to his property so that the cemetery could be restored. A path was also cut by a camp member so that the camp cleanup crew would have a starting point in which to clear the large path to the cemetery.

The owner of the property plans to have the entire area cleared at a future date and to create a small office park around the cemetery area. There will be multiple cleanup weekends required to accomplish this task.

Descendants of the people in the cemetery were eventually located in other areas of the state. They were very excited about what we were doing and plan a reunion the day that the cemetery is restored and rededicated.
