New Projects and On-going Projects/News
Louisa McCord members have continued to assist their sponsoring camp, 15th
Regiment South Carolina Volunteers Camp 51 of Lexington, SC, in fund raising
efforts for the Lake Murray Monument and the Quattlebaum Marker.
The 15th Regiment SC Volunteers Camp 51 Cookbook is in the final stages and will be available for sale at the Gilbert Peach Festival in July. The Chapter is also working on various craft projects that will be sold for fundraising at the Peach Festival. We are also planning a garage sale/flea market combination will be done at the end of the summer.
Louisa McCord Chapter members will be attendance at Confederate Memorial Day (both in Lexington and in Columbia) to stand honor and reading of the roll of the dead.
Louisa McCord Chapter is stitching the Camp 51 Colors with their name and location by hand for presentation.
Chapter is planning two field trips for the fall to include Camp 51 members to Culpepper Virginia and Magnolia Cemetery.
A scrapbook has been started and will continue to be updated as trips and events are completed.
A Chapter shirt has been designed and is being prepared.
Cemetery cleanup is planned for year 2005 for the Shull family cemetery with Louisa McCord members assisting Camp 51.
Fundraising is being done in various forms for donation to the Alberta Martin Foundation.
A community clean-up project is being planned. Exact location has not been decided and is to be determined.
OCR license plates are being designed for Chapter #12 fundraising.
Old Projects/News
Rosebud, Bailey Frye, presented appreciation certificates to volunteers who
assisted Camp 51 for various events in January.
Chapter members attended a private tour of the Charleston Defenses in September 2004. Our 8:30 a.m. tour began with Ft. Moultrie, McLeod Plantation, Ft. Lamar, Secessionville Plantation and more, and ended at 5:30 p.m. when we ran out of time and light.

51 of Lexington, SC at fund raising efforts for Lake Murray Monument.
Chapter members were be in attendance and observance at the Hunley interment
in April of 2004 and marched the processional. Four Chapter members (one
of which is the Camp 51 Commander, Steve Wolfe; and Camp 51 Adjutant, Allen
Frye; Chapter Vice-President, Melanie Frye; and Chapter President, Andrea
Wolfe) worked at various times at “sewing bees” in Charleston
and Mt. Pleasant to sew arm bands to be worn by mourners for the processional.
